Wintering Birds in Mai Po Nature Reserve

I was a bit worried about missing the wintering birds in Mai Po Nature Reserve this year as I have been away a lot lately.
Luckily, there are still plenty of them around in the Reserve and the birds don’t even seem to mind the recent air pollution.

I thought the Black & White images might look less depressing because of the poor air quality.

It makes me wonder how long these birds will be able to spend the winter here, as more and more residential buildings are being constructed every year on the other side of the mudflats in mainland China.

Człowiek jednak jest straszny, bo niszczy przyrodę. Dobrze jednak, że ptaki tam są, ale jak długo. Pozdrawiam.
Man, however, is terrible, because destroying nature. Well, however, that the birds are there, but for how long. Yours.

I wish that HK could be a lot healthier than it is. Good bird life there.

It wasn't until close to the end did I realize there were buildings in the distance. I scrolled back up to see if I had missed them in the other photos and was surprised to see them there too. Egads!

É bom ver tantas aves juntas na natureza.
Entendo sua preocupação... "o progresso" vem chegando e as aves se vão para sempre!...
Seria tão bom se houvesse outra maneira de equilibrar a situação!
Boa quinta-feira!
Um ótimo dia para você!

I find it heartening to see/know that Nature persists even in the most inhospitable environments. Nice documentation of the bird migration in your area.

Wonderful wildlife shots. Congrats.

You've got some great wildlife shots here. Does China have a conservation project to protect its wildlife? Or an air quality department? It would be sad to see these birds disappear because of development.
