Everyone Loves Coral Trees

Spring is coming and coral trees are flowering. The birds are having a great time.

At the moment, coral trees are everyone’s favourite.

Fork-tailed Sunbird
Male

Female

Japanese White-eye

Hair-crested Drongo

Orange-bellied Leafbird
Male

Female

Chinese Bulbul

Red-whiskered Bulbul

The monkeys, on the other hand, enjoy watching the birds having fun.

The Coral tree is one of my favourite trees too because of its beautiful flowers.

The sweet flowers are the favourites of the birds. However, unlike most of the nectar eating birds, the beaks of these birds are too short to reach the nectar at the root of the flower. But there is always a way around it.

Here I am still quite a bit jealous hear Friend of HK. What a beautiful beautiful red flowers in this tree and then also of those beautiful birds in it. We have these trees remain and the beautiful colorful birds we do not. Truly a schiterend blog.

I saw on the road in your blog also a monkey. Really nice.
Greetings, Helma

In all the time that I have been reading your blog, you have kept some of your most precious gems hidden until now. Those Fork-tailed Sunbirds and Orange-bellied Leafbirds are incredible. I have never even heard of the former species.
I also did not know that there were monkeys anywhere near Hong Kong. Great post.
